What is beef cosmetic tallow?
Beef cosmetic tallow is rendered beef fat that has been carefully purified and prepared for topical skin use. It closely resembles the natural oils (sebum) produced by our skin, making it deeply moisturizing and nourishing.
Is beef tallow good for your skin?
Yes. Tallow contains skin-supportive nutrients such as:
- Vitamins A, D, E, and K
- Fatty acids that help strengthen the skin barrier
It may help improve dryness, flakiness, and sensitivity.
Will it clog my pores?
Beef tallow is generally considered low on the comedogenic scale. Because it mimics the skin’s natural oils, many people find it absorbs well without clogging pores. However, if you are acne-prone, we recommend performing a patch test first.
What skin types is it best for?

Does it smell like beef?
We use high-quality biodynamic organic beef, which is more pure and carefully sourced than many standard grass-fed options. This results in a very mild, neutral scent. Some of our products are also infused with essential oils for a light, pleasant fragrance.
Is it safe for babies or children?
Pure, unscented tallow is often gentle enough for sensitive skin. However, we recommend consulting a healthcare provider before using it on infants or young children.
Is your tallow grass-fed and grass-finished?
Our tallow comes from biodynamic cattle raised without hormones or antibiotics. Biodynamic standards go beyond typical grass-fed and grass-finished claims, ensuring higher farming and animal welfare practices.
What does biodynamic mean?
Biodynamic farming is a holistic, regenerative approach to agriculture developed from the principles of Rudolf Steiner. It goes beyond organic standards by emphasizing soil health, pasture diversity, animal welfare, and closed-loop farm systems where farms produce their own feed and compost. Biodynamic farms avoid synthetic chemicals and follow natural rhythms. This approach supports soil vitality and animal wellbeing, which may contribute to high-quality, nutrient-dense ingredients.
How should I store it?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The product is shelf-stable but may soften in warm temperatures and firm up in cooler temperatures. This is completely normal and does not affect quality.
Is it natural and chemical-free?
Our tallow contains no synthetic preservatives, artificial fragrances, or fillers.
Can it help with eczema or psoriasis?
Many customers report relief from dryness and irritation. However, this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
